How to Oil Your Hair for Extra Shine & Growth

If you’re on a hair regrowth journey, adding oils into your routine is the most important step to healthy hair and scalp!

Try this hair oiling method 2x a week for some crazy results. You can shampoo out after 3 hours (which is what I usually do).

Adding a few drops of rosemary essential oil to your shampoo will help even more!

I literally NEVER shampoo without first oiling my hair for 3 hours. Oiling has transformed my hair and started hair regrowth along my entire hairline that I never thought I’d see again!

My absolute favorite oil is rosemary oil, which I either mix with olive oil or castor oil (both of which are known to have hair growth benefits as well).

Why Should I Oil My Hair?

Oiling your hair before showering works WONDERS for…

  • Protecting hair from breakage

  • Improving scalp health

  • Reducing hair fall

  • Making hair shinier and glossier

  • Strengthening the hair shaft

  • Promoting hair regrowth (with certain oils- like my girl rosemary!)

You may think that oil is what you should avoid in your hair care (especially if oily hair is your main issue), but I promise you- healthy, hydrated hair LOVES a good oil treatment!

Here’s How to Oil Your Hair for Amazingly Healthy Hair

What You’ll Need

  • 1-2 oils of choice (like rosemary, argan, olive oil)

  • A satin or microfiber towel or wrap

The Routine

  • Part your hair so you have easy access to different parts of your scalp

  • Take your oil of choice (like my fav, rosemary) + drop it right on your scalp in those parted sections

  • Use your fingers to massage in slow, small circular motions

  • Use another oil like argan to coat your ends, running the oil down the hair with your hands

  • Wrap your hair in satin or microfiber towel

  • Leave for a few hours or overnight

  • Shampoo out in the morning and enjoy extra shiny hair!

I’ve been super consistent with oiling my hair before my wash day and my hair’s growth and shine has NEVER been so good! Yes, it takes some extra steps, but your hair is going to love you for it!
